What is Neurofeedback?

and how can it help?

Neurofeedback (NFB) therapy is a form of brain training used to directly improve your health by regulating  brain function.

Sensors on the scalp measure brain waves and send this data to a computer that provides visual and auditory feedback in real time. The brain observes the positive or negative feedback and learns to improve its own self-regulation.  Feedback is seamlessly embedded into engaging media such as movies, TV shows, and video games.

As you begin to self-regulate, you will begin to experience not only symptom reduction, but more clarity, less reactivity, better focus, and more. NFB does not change who you are, it does not suppress any normal emotions, but rather it increases brain flexibility and disrupts dysregulatory patterns that are established throughout life. NFB is a workout for the brain, resulting in increased flexibility, control, resilience, and strength.

Neurofeedback is a research-backed method for improving cognitive function, helping with symptom reduction, and so much more.

Why Neurofeedback?

The field of psychiatry is becoming outdated as advances in neuroimaging have facilitated an improved understanding of disturbances in neural circuits that underlie mental illness. Psychological disorders are now considered to be diseases of circuitry, as opposed to neurochemistry. This is evidenced by the higher than expected number of patients experiencing one diagnoses co morbidly with another, such as depression, anxiety, and ADD. The need for personalized treatment to selectively disrupt patterns of neural activity has never been more clear.

Through analysis of your brain's EEG and qEEG, we can understand the way your individual brain works. This information allows us to determine what frequencies, networks, and cortical locations are resulting in symptoms. This allows us to get your treatment right the first time.

This non-invasive, easy treatment is an unconscious learning process enabling you to break out of established patterns and enhance functioning, without the use of any medications.

With a deep love of the mountains and an equal one for EEG/qEEG and Neurotherapy, we're glad you've found us.

Here at Alpine Neurotherapy, we use state-of-the-art 19- channel EEG hardware and software to analyze our patients' brains at the deepest level. With neurofeedback training, we are able to target the specific regions of the brain that affect your wellbeing.

Who can benefit from Neurotherapy?

Anyone with a brain can benefit from neurotherapy! Not only is brain training beneficial for even treatment resistant symptom reduction, but it can be used for enhancing cognitive performance, athletic ability, mental clarity, creativity, focus, and more.
